- Learn about Labyrinth and the general idea of realms here!
There are more in-depth guides in the guild.

- The dimension Doggos and other residential lifeforms belong to is called Labyrinth, which is the all encompassing word used when the inhabitants describe the general world. Magic is essential to survive in Labyrinth, although not all creatures born within Labyrinth inherently have magic; some need to find ways to gain it before perishing. Labyrinth can be a dangerous place for those unprepared — there's infinite possibilities and not enough lifetimes to adequately prepare oneself. It's a world of chance and circumstance, and while it can be a beautiful place full of many experiences and stories, it can also whip around and hurt those who aren't paying attention.
No one really knows how Labyrinth came to be, or, if someone does, they aren't talking. All that is currently known is that Labyrinth was originally much smaller. It continues to grow at a rate that can't exactly be measured. From what can be recalled, stories say Labyrinth was originally a singular plane, and then a gate appeared. The gate lead to another smaller pocket world, which would be referred to as a realm. As time went on, more and more gates appeared within the original plane and throughout the realms created, until things became untraceable. No one knows what the "original realm" was, and some gates have been forgotten and are waiting to be found.
Hundreds and thousands of species exist within Labyrinth, and most are unique to their own realm. There are a selected few intelligent species who can travel amongst gates, and those species are often called Dwellers. Animals who can travel between gates often have the same intelligence (or higher) to that of a human and are capable of creating entire civilizations.
The current known Dwellers in the shop are; Kyrin, Doggos, and Hounds.
Dwellers may not be the strongest species, but they're the most adaptable and likely to survive through breeding within the numerous amount of realms around them. Another key difference is they're one of the only species who can travel gates. Normally, where a creature is born is where they are stuck. Dwellers however, as long as they take care to make sure young are cared for and they're suitable for the new environment, can travel freely amongst any gate. This doesn't necessarily mean they can survive any world, for instance an aquatic Doggo would dry up and die entering a fire world, but it does mean they have the ability to travel.

- Realms are pocket worlds connected to one another through gates. Some realms are bigger than others. It isn't uncommon to enter a realm that is only as big as a field of grass and immediately enter another realm that is bigger than Earth itself. While realms overlap in themes at times, basically any kind of world can be found within Labyrinth. An aquatic world can host a gate that leads into a space-themed world. Each realm has their own unique rules, animals, and magic. Some types of creatures may struggle in certain realms, but find other ones very fortunate to live within.
Some realms are protected by packs of Doggos, so travel can be dangerous for a multitude of reasons. Gates also don't always look the same; some may look like literal doors, others may be holes in the ground, etc. A gate can usually be identified by the feeling of being pulled when within a few feet of it, so accidental travel is less likely but it can happen. Some realms may have multiple entrances to it scattered throughout other places in Labyrinth.
Destroying a gate is very possible and can be catastrophic. Gates are powerful entities with a plethora of magic stored within. Destroying a singular gate to one specific realm could cause the realm to alter. Sometimes weather may become funky, other times a unique catastrophe will occur like the ground splitting or gravity gets wonky. Some realms may not be affected, even! Destroying all gates can make the realm disintegrate completely without warning. Luckily, gates are difficult to destroy and a singular Dweller can't seem to manage it on their own.

- Magic is necessary to survival within Labyrinth, but surprisingly not all creatures are born with it. Magic isn't always the manifestation of being able to use a power; sometimes magic is unseen. The key to knowing if someone has magic is whether or not they are healthy and alive. Anyone without magic will slowly fade away until they're a husk of a creature and perish. Magic is the lifeblood of Labyrinth, and some creatures need to immediately be exposed to it upon birth if they want a chance to survive.
Doggos are, unfortunately, one of those seemingly doomed creatures. However, Doggos are fortunate enough that they have discovered how to ensure their pups survive! One of the few constant vegetations found in almost every single realm are special pumpkins that grow with a jack-o-lantern design on it. These pumpkins are ripe with magic, and placing a pup within it upon birth will ensure they absorb enough magic to survive their lifetime. It is the only known way currently to have a pup absorb the adequate amount of magic to live within Labyrinth, and fortunately pumpkins are not hard to find and they are not rare. When a pup is placed within a pumpkin, their host changes color to reflect the puppy inside. These pumpkins are stronger than non-magical ones, making their exterior harden once a pup is placed inside, like an egg! When puppies are ready to come out, the pumpkin needs to be broken out of by the pup.
If a Doggo does not place their litter within pumpkins, their puppies will die. Some pumpkins will give more magic than others, resulting in puppies with powers. Unfortunately, there's no way currently to know which pumpkins have that boost of magic, so it's currently a randomized phenomenon.
Other species, like Kyrin, have evolved to a point where their eggs/young immediately are prepared for life on Labyrinth. There are other species, like the Hounds, that can absorb extra magic from the environment after they emerge from their pumpkins.

The lines colored orange are female, and the lines colored blue are male

- Doggos are born live, but instantly placed within special jack-o-lantern marked pumpkins to ensure they absorb enough magic to survive. Pumpkins instantly take colors and patterns from their pup, making it easy to figure out which pup is inside a pumpkin. The newborn pups stay inside a pumpkin for a two weeks as the pumpkin hardens like an egg to help protect the small and defenseless creature. Doggos are normally familial creatures and will protect their pumpkins and raise their pups, but not all Doggos have to be the same; it's not unheard of to find an abandoned pumpkin. Some pumpkins have more magic than others, resulting in the puppies gaining powers once they emerge. Puppies will break out of their pumpkin when they're strong enough to; removing them early can result in them having less magic than necessary, which can result in numerous disabilities and a low immune system. Puppies inside pumpkins do not need food, water, or warmth, as the pumpkin provides all a puppy needs in this stage.
- → Pumpkins grow into puppies by their colorist after a week has passed
Once a puppy breaks out of their pumpkin, they're ready for the world! They are still weak, small, and need plenty of observing, but they're adventurous and should have an eye kept on them or they might go through a gate! The puppy stage can be RPed anywhere from three weeks old to a year old. Puppies are not at their max potential yet, making hunting and travel sometimes difficult. Often, they need to rely on their parents or pack to safely navigate around Labyrinth.
- → Puppies grow into adults by their colorist after three weeks have passed
Once an adult, Doggos can cause a lot of trouble! Armed with sharp teeth and massive claws, Doggos usually can defend themselves fairly well once they've matured. They're about twice the size of an average Earth wolf and are one of the most intelligent species within Labyrinth. They can create, build, explore, and more! While Doggos do have double joined front legs and the ability to bend their index fingers like human thumbs, delicate work will need to be done via powers or other animal help! Doggos have a fairly long life span, as they age slowly due to the amount of magic within them. A healthy Doggo can reach around a century before passing naturally. There are ways to extend a Doggos life, although they haven't been discovered yet!
- → Adults stay at this stage, but perhaps future stages may be added

The lines colored orange are female, and the lines colored blue are male

- While Kyrin are mammals, they've evolved to give birth to small eggs. These eggs instantly begin to crystalize on the outside, finalizing into a solid crystal-like formation within two days. The egg and crystals often take colors and markings from the newborn, which helps identify it's an egg instead of an abstract and forgotten crystal. The egg hatches within two weeks, although stories have been told of babies getting stuck inside their egg because their horn didn't form in time. Kyrin vary in whether or not they raise their young. It's not unheard of for an egg to be abandoned, or, more commonly, left in the hands of another Dweller to care for them. However, it also isn't uncommon to hear of tight-knit families sticking together! Some eggs have more magic than others, resulting in the foals gaining powers once they emerge.
- → Eggs grow into foals by their colorist after a week has passed
Once a foal is free from their egg they are ready to begin exploration. At this age, a young Kyrin will begin to understand their ability to use telekinesis to move small objects. All Kyrin have this power inherently, however it is very important to begin nurturing and developing this power as a foal or it might not develop much further. The foal stage can be RPed anywhere from immediately emerging from their egg to a year old. Foals are not at their max potential yet, making foraging and travel sometimes difficult. Often, they need to rely on their parents or herd to safely navigate around Labyrinth.
- → Foals grow into adults by their colorist after three weeks have passed
Now an adult, a Kyrin can begin traveling throughout the world. Their horns have finished growing and by then their ability to use telekinetic magic has solidified. Their hooves have a sharp edge to them, making kicks potentially deadly to those who decide to take a Kyrin on. They stand generally at the size of a horse. They can create, build, explore, and more with their telekinetic magic. Kyrin have a fairly long life span, as they age slowly due to the amount of magic within them. A healthy Kyrin can reach around a century before passing naturally. There are ways to extend a their life, although they haven't been discovered yet!

Once a puppy breaks out of their pumpkin, they're ready for the world! They are still weak, small, and need plenty of observing, but they're highly adventurous and should have an eye kept on them or they might go through a gate! The puppy stage can be RPed anywhere from three weeks old to a year old. Puppies are not at their max potential yet, making hunting, travel, and even absorbing magic from the environment sometimes difficult. Often, they need to rely on their parents or pack to safely navigate around Labyrinth or to help make sure that they are properly absorbing magic. Hounds are able to absorb magic directly from the environment but require to be in a high magic realm in order to survive. Hound puppies have the trademark three-heads of the species and while usually the middle head is the most dominant decision maker, the other heads are independent and fight to get their thoughts and desires known.
- → Puppies grow into adults by their colorist after three weeks have passed
Once an adult, Hounds can cause a lot of trouble! Armed with sharp teeth and massive claws, Hounds usually can defend themselves fairly well once they've matured. - When a Doggo likes another Doggo.... a puppy is born!
However, not all characters are fit parents...

- There are various types of breedings! Some ask for more freedom than others. When ordering, please specify exactly what kind of breeding you'd like! The various forms of breedings are:
Rogue: A breeding where one shop canon character is put up to breed with a character not made/owned. All children will resemble a mysterious, unknown parent in some way.
Mixer: All characters entered will be placed in a pool to RNG or selectively CC to another character. You won't know who your character will breed with until the end of the event.
Regular: A character breeds with another character with the consent of both owners. A breeding permission post must be made for this.

- Due to a lack of idea what the general pricing for characters should be via platinum, breeding slots opened on Gaia are offer based. Customers will offer the amount of platinum they feel comfortable offering. The pairing of the breeding will be what decides if the artist will take the request! Items can be offered, too. Typically, the concept will be the deciding factor but if an artist is conflicted over several entries and can only pick a few, they may decide to rng from a list of those entries or even a full list of all entries.
Breedings are opened when the artist is ready to take requests! Slots will be opened within the guild. To see the full rules on breedings please check the About Breedings thread in the guild.

- If you just need to breed a pet and can't wait for breedings to open and don't want to try the RLC route, you can post a bribe in a colorist's bribe thread. Bribes aren't often taken and rely heavily on what is offered (items and platinum are typically what is requested). You can bribe for a breeding or even a custom, although breedings will rarely be taken unless the offer is tempting due to the amount of work they require, as a general warning!

- RLC are currently not open at this time for breedings. Once they are we will post a link for them.

- Want the perfect character? Well, we're excited to get you one!

- There are various types of customs! Some ask for more freedom than others. When ordering, please specify exactly what kind of custom you'd like! The various forms of customs are:
Full Custom: You can specify every detail, or leave various parts to artist choice! You have the complete freedom to specify colors, patterns, and edits.
Semi Custom: You can offer a palette and state what stage and gender you want. Everything else is left up to the artist.
Inspiration Custom: You can offer a song, an image, writing, or anything that will inspire the artist to make your pet! Everything else except the stage of your character is left to the artist.
Blindbox: Just want a character? This gives complete freedom to the artist on everything.
Conversion: Using a pet you own in another shop, you can get a character based off your own character! It'll have to fit within the setting, but your character will look as close to the offered pet as possible.

- Due to a lack of idea what the general pricing for characters should be via platinum, custom slots opened on Gaia are offer based. Customers will offer the amount of platinum they feel comfortable offering. The concept of the custom will be what decides if the artist will take the request! Items can be offered, too. You can bribe for a custom or even a breeding, although breedings will rarely be taken unless the offer is tempting due to the amount of work they require, as a general warning!

- To learn more about RLC, which relies on real life commissions, go here.
RLC slots are currently closed. Once they have opened we will state so along with providing a new link.

- Roleplay is all well and fun, but you know what is better?
Roleplay with rewards!

- Once you have a character and cert them you can immediately jump into the world of Labyrinth. When setting an RP up, there's a prompt found within the RP subforum you must fill out for the first post of the roleplay, stating what realm you're in, what characters are participating, and the season (realms do not function on all the same time, so one realm may currently be in spring while another is in summer, it's up to you).
Completed roleplays give you tokens, which can be later cashed in for rewards. While roleplay is optional, we greatly encourage owners to take the time to develop and explore their characters within the world of Labyrith. Certain roleplay events will reward those who are particularly active in them, ranging from minor rewards like a few tokens to special pets.

- Tokens, pictured above, are small trinkets given out for completed RPs. The RP token is shown above; a golden and yellow token with a diamond symbol given to those who complete a 1,000 word RP. All that is required is that the person submitting the RP personally reached 1,000 words. An RP needs to be submitted by all members if all owners wish to cash in and receive a token. In the future, there will be more tokens for unique rewards. Rewards will be added to the list over time, and the link to the token system can be found here [INSERT LINK HERE]. Once you've used a token it is gone forever and must be earned again. You may store tokens in your journal, and use their image!

- This system is not yet released, but will have unique rewards for those who partake in it!

- Packs and tribes can be a home for those who need the company.
However, keep in mind not all packs are friendly!

- Packs are groups of Dwellers who gather together and share their lives amongst one another. There is typically a leader for each group. While some packs may be civil enough to share realms with another pack depending on how big the realm is, not all packs are willing to do so. Territory battles aren't uncommon as a result.
Not all gatherings are called packs. The most common species to live amongst a group are Doggos, and their term is typically packs, but one can use tribe, group, herd, etc etc.
Those inside packs often proudly carry some sort of symbol on them to signify their pack. Sometimes it's a tattoo, other times it's a piece of jewelry; it's really up to the pack. Some packs also come with specific beliefs and are incredibly strict on who can join and what their members can do, while others are more loose and let their members wander outside of pack territory. Every pack is different!

- Making or joining a pack is fairly simple. To make a pack, all one needs to do is follow the rules within the pack subforum in the guild. While each official pack should be different than another, overlapping themes are fine! If your pack stays in one location, you'll need to come up with the realm it belongs to and the rules behind it, which is another fairly simple process. Packs come with numerous benefits, such as allowing mini-events, giving out RP tokens depending on activity, and more! Packs are customer ran, giving customers complete freedom (as long as rules are followed) to tell their own stories. Owners of the pack can also contact the mule to make shop-wide events, if they so wish.
Joining a pack is different per thread. Some packs may request you send in a form, some may suggest you post in the pack RP thread. All packs have some sort of signature tattoo or item your pet will be recerted with upon joining! (Currently this feature is not active, as we do not have a lineartist yet).
As a note, packs and tribes are not restricted to only Doggos! Any species within the shop can make a tribe/group/clan/pack. Some groups can even decide to mix species together and allow other species to mingle in one area!
