Ritz and Paloni

This is probably one of the ultimate snacks!

Difficulty heart

Ingredients
Ritz Crackers
Paloni
Tomato Ketchup/Mayonaise
Cheese
Black Pudding(Optional choice)

Tools needed:
Knife(for cutting obviously xD)
Microwave

Take out the ritz crackers and arrange them however you want. The paloni simply needs to be chopped up and put on the ritz. Now you can eat them like that if you want...However, if you want to do more caryy on. I always like to add tomato ketchup or mayonaise your personal choice. This also goes well with Black Pudding! Fry off the Black pudding though! Once finished (Don't do this with the Black Pudding this is Paloni ONLY) Top with cheese. Then thus place in the microwave for only about 20 seconds allowing the cheese to melt. YOUR DONE! Have fun eating ^_^

QUICK HEATS UP!

We're starting to be more picky about the recipes we're putting up. Only 3 out of 6 recipes that were submitted recently were accepted.
So you won't accept my recipe for stone soup? ;-;

Vegetarian Panini Sandwich
Appliances Needed: Panini Press or Alternative Panini Method

Taki's Level of Difficulty: heart

Two slices of bread, any kind (I like wheat and ciabatta)
Olive oil or smart balance.. or if you don't mind the extra calories: butter
Cheese, any kind (I like provolone and feta cheese)
Avocado slices
Tomato slices
Red onion slices
Basil, chiffonade
Shredded lettuce
Baby spinach leaves
Freshly ground pepper

Butter/oil your bread lightly on the sides that will be grilled. Build your sandwich, from the bottom up starting with the cheese (and ending with a bit, too so the bread will stick) Grill/press until crispy on the outside and cheese is melty. You don't have to use all the ingredients, but I suggest avocado and basil be in all the combinations. The avocado serves as your "meat" and the basil adds great flavor and aroma.

It's not just for college students. It's for anyone who would like to learn simple recipes. The title says College Students because they're usually the ones who eat bad while living away from home.

And while it's nice to live at home, sooner or later you're going to have to move out ;]

Hehehe thanks. I like to think that in addition to my B.S I earned a minor in "cheap n' easy cooking that can be completed with ingredients from 7-11 and a stove that works 60% of the time smile "
Buffalo Chicken Dip
I am a buffalo chicken fiend. This dip makes a delicious "base" for all sorts of buffalo chicken dishes, spread it on a pizza crust with a little bit of extra cheese for buffalo chicken pizza. Wrap it up in a pocket of dough for a calzone. It is also very tasty when served plain with celery or crackers.
Difficulty: heart
Ingredients:
2 cans of chunk chicken (10 oz)
2 packages of cream cheese (8 oz)
1 bottle blue cheese salad dressing (if you are a blue cheese fiend you can add extra!)
~3/4 cup hot sauce (more or less depending on tastes)
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
Tools:
Stove
Skillet
Optional
Pan
Instructions:
1. Open up the can of chicken and drain it (If you want, you can use regular chicken breasts, just boil them until they are cooked and shred them with a fork)
2. Combine chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, heat through
3. Combine cream cheese and salad dressing (you may need more or less salad dressing depending on what consistency you want it
4. If you want to keep it warm, pop it in the oven on the lowest temperature setting in a pan. Did somebody say superbowl party?

Bubble and Squeak
Also known as cabbage and potatoes.
Appliances Needed: Skillet
Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student: heart ?
Ingredients
Equal parts chopped cabbage and mashed potatoes
Boiled vegetables [I use frozen peas, corn and carrot mix that ive boiled for a moment]
Salt and pepper to taste
A bit of oil for frying
Method
Mix the cooked cabbage with the mashed potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
Heat the oil in a frying pan. Put a spoonfull of the potato and cabbage mixture in the pan and flatten a bit with your spatula. Let cook over medium heat until lightly browned. Flip over and cook till the other side is browned. Serve immediately.

Its a good vegetarian that could potentially be made from left overs. Various meats like bacon or leftover sausage can be used if liked.

Mushroomey Beefy Rice (aka MBR):
Appliances Needed: Skillet, Pot
Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student: heart
Ingredients:
Ground Beef
Rice
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Method:
-First brown the ground beef. (you can also use chicken, but it doesn't work quite as well) I usually use some spices on my meat as it's browning.
-At the same time, you want to be boiling your rice. You can use any rice: white rice, brown rice, or any of the "flavored" kind of rice you can get in most stores.
-Once browned and boiled, combine your meat, your rice, and a can (or two if you want to make a lot) of Cream of Mushroom Soup (or Cream of Anything soup, I know they make celery, too). Mix them together, and then it's ready to serve.

It might look gross, but it is delicious, and very easy to make.
That panini sounds tasty, Taki.

What I've had that I absolutely loved on a sandwich was sprouts and some sort of acidic dressing like ceasar or a vinaigrette (I was never sure what it really was).

Ramen Shrimp Pouch
Appliances: Oven, Aluminum Foil, Baking sheet

Taki's Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student: heart

Source: Alton Brown, Good Eats

1 package instant ramen noodles. Discard the flavor packet
small handful chopped dried mushrooms
5 large shrimp, raw, peeled, deveined
1 tablespoon diced onion
1 tablespoon chopped green onion
sprinkle of red pepper flakes
pinch of kosher salt
1 can vegetable broth
1 tablespoon mirin/rice win vinegar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Place noodle block in the middle of a sheet of aluminum foil. Stack the following ingredients on top of noodles, in this order: mushrooms, shrimp, onions, scallions, red pepper flakes, and salt. Pull sides and corners of pouch up to form a small basket shape leaving an opening at the top to pour in liquid.
In small bowl, combine vegetable broth, mirin, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Pour liquid in the pack. Press foil together, leaving a small opening to allow steam to escape. Place on cookie sheet and bake in oven for 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
Sounds tasty! Except that I'd make it with chicken.
