Ramen fixes my sodium craving. (Boy, do I sound like a drug addict)

I'm running low on recipes. If I don't visit my sister soon and steal borrow the recipe book, I'll be all dried up! D: < eats a graham cracker >

I'll try to remember some more easy things I like to whip up...hm neutral

Nice.

AxeFalador: Your post has been linked in this post. I'll try and have Baran link it in the first post as well with the list of other appliances.

Its not really a recipe...but I like this method a lot

Not Very Healthy But Delicious Toast

Requires: a stove, a fry pan

Next time you want some toast. Try making it in a pan instead.

On medium heat, melt a pat of butter in the pan and lay a slice of bread in it. Let it sit until that side is golden brown.
Flip onto the other side. You can add more butter if you like, but that'll add to the fat and might make the bread soggy.

When that side has a nice color to it, plate it and eat as is or with anything else you'd like to pair with it.

I really really like this method with thick sliced bread, especially Japanese style white or wheat bread.

You can try a sprinkling of cinammon or sugar on toast hot from the pan too :3
I like my toast sometimes with a bit of sweetened condensed milk.
Plantation Bars

[I love this recipe because it has no definate measurements! Yay for the measuring cup impaired!]

Appliances needed:
Fridge/freezer, microwave,

Ingredients:
Chocolate chips (mini ones work the best)
Peanut butter
Crushed Peanuts
Rice Crispies

Instructions:
Get a large bowl and fill 1/2-3/4 with chocolate chips
Shovel out some peanut butter into it as well
Heat in the microwave for 2 minutes or until gooey
Mix in rice crispies and crushed peanuts and stir (careful not to get any on yourself, it might be hot)
Pour in to square serving dish thing...
Put in fridge overnight
Cut into little squares (or whatever shape your heart desires) and eat!
Oh!

I totally forgot this, but, you only need a microwave (and eggs) to make scrambled eggs!

Just crack 2 eggs in a mug and stir* it well. Put it in the microwave for 90 seconds and, wa-la, srambled eggs.

*If you don't stir it, it will go sploey. I speak from experience. @_@

Yeah, my friend told me that.

He knows the secrets of the universe *shh*

But seriously, stir! >_>

(Forgive my paranoia, but once while running late for class they blew up my microwave, so I ended up running down the street yelling something really strange. I don't remember what it was, but I remember it was strange.)
Sailor Mnemosyne
Upside Down Skillet Pizza
Appliances Needed: Stovetop, frying pan (with an oven-safe handle), oven, knives to cut vegetables

Mnemosyne's Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student: stressed (mostly because it takes just a little while longer to make)

Preheat the oven to 425F
This'll make about 3-4 servings depending on how you cut it. The servings aren't all that -big-, though.

Topping:
200 grams ground beef (just enough to spread out nicely in the pan)
1/2 onion, chopped (optional of course)
In a cast iron frying pan (a frying pan that's got a nice thick bottom, and doesn't have a plastic-style handle, or handle-cover)
Saute (cook it over a medium to high heat) until the beef's got no pink left on it. And the onions (if you use them) should be clear.
Put a piece of paper towel over a plate and dump the mixture onto that to drain fat (unless you used lean ground beef, in which case you shouldn't need to do this).

200mL tomato sauce
2mL basil
2mL oregano
2mL garlic powder
2mL marjoram
2mL Italian seasoning (all of these seasonings are optional, they just make a nice sauce)
1mL seasoning salt (or table salt, or parsley salt, or no salt at all)
A bunch of vegetables (a stalk of celery, 1/4 green pepper, 1/4 red pepper, mushrooms work). Chop them all up.
Put the meat mixture back into the pan, heat it up, add the above mixture, stir, and let it sit on low for about 3 minutes.

Spread the whole mixture evenly in the pan.

20mL mozzarella cheese
Sprinkle over the meat mixture.

Crust:
60mL flour
60mL milk
1/2 egg (crack an egg, scramble it, and measure out about two tablespoons of it)
50mL mozzarella cheese, grated
Pinch of pepper (optional)
Whisk them together (with a whisk, or a fork) in a small bowl.

Pour the batter over the top of the meat mixture in the pan (it makes a very thin crust that probably won't -completely- cover the mixture).
Put the whole pan in the oven, and bake it for 15-18 minutes (the sauce'll probably bubble up over top of the crust)--(remember when you take the fryingpan out, the handle will be hot--it's funny but people tend not to think about that).
To serve it, put a plate upside down over the top of the pan, and flip it, so the skillet comes out upside down onto the plate. The crust on the bottom, etc. Probably won't come out right in the centre of the plate.
You can put some more cheese on top. Serve warm.

Taken from the recipe notebook I had to keep during a cooking class.

This sounds absolutely amazing. I'm so gonna try that next week. surprised

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but spaghetti bolognese is really easy and really yummy to make. Level: heart How I make it (serves about 4):

Ingredients:
400 gr ground beef
400 gr spaghetti (but obviously you can use any type of pasta - I prefer penne or tagliatelle)
2 cans of canned tomatoes - roughly and quickly cut into pieces (you can use fresh ones, but I hate the skins and getting rid of those takes too much time sweatdrop )
(500 ml passata - if you like a slightly thinner sauce)
4 onions, chopped
250 gr mushrooms, sliced
your favorite (dried or fresh) (Italian) herbes, just don't forget a pinch of salt and a twist of pepper
olive oil or butter

For the sauce: Heat oil and/or butter (I prefer olive oil because of the taste) in a large frying pan. Put it on low/medium heat. Saute the onions - they should turn soft and smell incredibly yummy after about 5 minutes. Make sure you don't turn off the fire and eat all the onions - you will have to start all over. whee After that, saute the beef until it's got no pink left. Throw in the mushrooms and let it fry at medium heat for about 5 minutes. Then add the tomatoes and passata, add the herbes, pepper and salt, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.

In the meantime (about 15 minutes before the sauce is ready), boil water for the spaghetti and cook it as it says on the package. When it's done, don't forget to add like a spoon of olive oil for taste and texture.

Enjoy. If you like, have some nice red wine to go with it. whee

Spaghetti is the best. ^_^ Our caf made that for dinner tonight. It was great.

A few weeks ago we my parents brought me back up to San Antonio so I can move back into my dorm. We stayed with my sister and they had brought some game meat - nilgai. We replaced ground beef with the ground nilgai. It was fabulous. :B

Actually, the strange looks are why I remember that it must have been strange...

Sounds cool, I've never even had anything like that. I usually just stick to cows - though I do love an occasional spinach, cream and salmon pasta too. Or with tilapia and loads of veggies, both healthy and delicious. Now that I think of it, whenever I need something nutricious and tasty I make pasta with whatever I have left in the fridge. xp

It's a type of antelope/deer that was brought to South Texas from India and now inhabits the King Ranch. My uncles like to go hunting for it.

It tastes like a pleasant combination of beef and venison.

Sounds delicious! I wonder if I can ever get my paws on some...
