Welcome to Gaia! ::

Wow. That was a crazy episode.
I spent an hour in the library again.

My friend and I baked a rum cake for the installation of the Phi Alpha Theta chapter.

We got oohs and aahs as we took it to class (we were late). And we got several, "Oh my God, that looks good!" random comments. xD

I'll take a picture of it.
Yay for cake!

Also, I had another argument in Miko's guild... >.<

What was this one about? Same people?
Same people. This one was about the Virginia Tech shootings.

Some of my friends say I should stop frustrating myself and just leave the guild.

What are they saying about it? What are you saying about it?
I can't put my finger on it, but the way they were talking about the shooter was pissing me off. The vagaries made it a bit hard to argue, but, hey, I can always use practice in debate. I was basically arguing that the shooter wasn't smart and he wasn't some one to be admired in anyway. I can't really sum it up. You can read it yourself if you really want a good reason to be angry.

Rum Cake
Appliances Needed: Oven, stovetop (for glaze)

Taki's Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student:
stressed

1 package yellow cake mix (Duncan Heinz works best)
1 package instant vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup dark rum

Grease a Bundt pan with Baker's Joy and flour. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Mix all the ingredients together until smooth. Pour in Bundt pan and bake for approximately 55 minutes.

When the cake is almost cool, place it on a cake plate. (This is trickly, so use caution)

GLAZE
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 stick margerine

Combine and cook for about 20-25 minutes on medium heat. Add 1/2 cup dark rum and let cook a while longer. Try on cake.

OR if you're too chicken to cook with Rum or didn't have the necessary ingredients for the glaze, do this:

1 container of Butter Cream frosting
1 1/2 cap fulls of Dark rum.

Mix thoroughly. Heat in the microwave if you want it to be runny on your cake.
